چکیده

Thermoplastic-based polymers are gathering importance in several engineering fields like electrical, electronic, automotive, aerospace, and structural. The additions of secondary phase reinforcements such as natural synthetic fibre improve thermoplastic-based polymer’s properties. thermoplastic combinations found to have low mechanical strength incompatibility need special treatment for synthesizing the fibre. present experimental investigation deals with enhancement polypropylene hybrid composite by using glass (synthetic)/hemp (natural) ratio 0 : 35, 5 30, 10 25, 15 20 reinforced wt% compatibilizer through injection moulding. revealed test results showed improved impact flexural tensile 37.5%, 14.2%, 21.1%, respectively. thermal adsorption characteristics were evaluated thermogravimetric analysis apparatus. It decomposition limited hemp at 27°C 700°C.

A Model of the Injection Moulding Process

This paper is concerned with the injection moulding process, in which hot molten plastic is injected under high pressure into a thin cold mould. Assuming that the velocity and temperature profiles across the mould maintain their shape, a simple steady state model to describe the behaviour of a Newtonian fluid during the rilling stage is developed. Various phenomena of the process are examined, ...

Lattice Boltzmann Modeling of Injection Moulding Process

Polymer injection in moulds with complicated shapes is common in todays industrial problems. A challenge is to optimize the mould design which leads to the most homogeneous filling. Current commercial softwares are able to simulate the process only partially. This paper proposes a preliminary study of the capability of a two-fluid LatticeBoltzmann model to provide a simple and flexible approach...

Application of Grey Taguchi based Response Surface Methodology (GT-RSM) in Injection Moulding of Polypropylene/E-glass Composite

Strong non-linearity combined with the complicated rheological behaviour of polymers makes the quality characteristics of products unpredictable in plastic injection moulding. The purpose of this work is to study the mechanical properties of injection moulded polypropylene/E-glass composites. The process parameters like the melt temperature, injection pressure, packing pressure and cooling time...

Experimental study and modelling of date palm fibre composite acoustic behaviour using differential evolution algorithm

Background and aims: In recent years, in most countries of the world, the provision of a calming environment without disturbing noise has become a need, which has subsequently led to significant growth in noise control techniques. It is now well documented that prolonged over-exposure to the excessive levels of environmental noise not only induces disabling hearing impairment but also contribut...

Optimization of Injection Moulding Process Parameters in the Moulding of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

Injection moulding is one of the most popular polymer processing methods due to its high production rate as well as its ability to produce very intricate geometries at very cheaper cost and within few seconds. There are several flaws which occur while producing plastic parts by Injection moulding, like warpage, shrinkage, flash, sink marks etc. Shrinkage is one of the most critical problems whi...
